Design a '50 Years of the Cornish Seal Sanctuary at Gweek' Logo - Terms & Conditions
Eligibility
- The competition is open to primary schools and home educators in Cornwall
- Entries must be submitted by a teacher or school representative or parent on behalf of their students.
- Students must be aged 4-11 years at the time of entry.
Competition Dates
- The competition opens on February 10th 2025 and closes 31st March 2025
- Entries submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
Entry Requirements
- Schools may submit one entry per pupil.
- Designs must be original, hand-drawn or digital, and suitable for reproduction.
- The logo should celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Cornish Seal Sanctuary at Gweek and reflect our marine conservation mission.
How to Enter
- Entries must be scanned or photographed and emailed to jasmine.chater@sealifetrust.com with the subject line “50th Anniversary Logo Competition.” Or posted to the Sanctuary.
- The email must include the school’s name, contact details, and the pupil’s first name and age.
Judging Criteria and selection:
- Entries must show relevance to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary’s mission and 50th anniversary theme.
- Effective incorporation of marine conservation messages.
- Entries will be judged using a Facebook gallery poll which will be used to choose 2 from a shortlist of 10 shortlisted internally by the Cornish Seal Sanctuary team.
- The winning design is to be chosen by a seal Jinx or Banana (from a final shortlist of two)
- The winning design will be featured as part of our 50th-anniversary celebrations.
- The winner will receive a school visit from the Cornish Seal Sanctuary team.
- The school visit is for up to 30 pupils and will be arranged by contacting the Sanctuaries education co-ordinator. Details will be emailed to the winning school within 28 days of the winner being chosen.
- The runners up prize consists of one resident seal adoption for the pupil’s class, this prize will be arranged directly by the Sanctuary.
- Prizes are non transferable
- No cash alternative
Permissions & Usage
- By entering, schools confirm they have obtained parental/guardian consent for students to participate.
- The winning design may be adapted for branding purposes.
- The Cornish Seal Sanctuary reserves the right to use submitted designs for promotional purposes, including on social media, websites, and marketing materials.
General Terms
- The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The Cornish Seal Sanctuary reserves the right to modify or cancel the competition if necessary.
- By entering, schools agree to these terms and conditions.
