Dennis, easily identifiable by his mighty fine quiff of white hair, joined us in January 2017 along with fellow goat Marvin and found his forever home here at the sanctuary.
Dennis was the cheekiest goat, known for headbutting others out of the way, he always loved a butt scratch and using the team’s wellies as itching posts. He was often spotted competing with the others for the best browse or cardboard box. He loved a treat, specifically carrots and ivy, but could be particular about eating treats that are dropped on the floor.
In his old age he began to struggle with arthritis in his front legs. The team kept a close eye on him, keeping him comfortable with daily supplements and medication. When the treatment was no longer effective, it was decided it was time to let him pass with dignity.
Dennis was always first out the gate at any sign of adventure and spent his mornings helping the site team keep the paddock hedgerows trimmed.
He was such a character keeping our team on their toes and will be sorely missed.
