Welcome to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary

The SEA LIFE TRUST Cornish Seal Sanctuary is a charity that rescues and rehabilitates grey seal pups from around the Cornish coastline.

Each season (September - March), the Sanctuary rehabilitates over 70 seal pups that have been rescued for various reasons, from malnourishment to being separated from their mum.

When visiting the Sanctuary, you can experience wonderful marine animals up close and personal and learn all about their individual stories.

Meet our Resident Seals!

Beyond our vital seal rescue work, the Sanctuary is home to 9 resident Grey Seals and 3 Common Seals, providing a safe and enriching environment for these animals that cannot be released.

Many of them have been injured or displaced and would not survive in the wild. Here at the Sanctuary they receive expert care while helping us educate visitors about the threats facing their species and the importance of marine conservation.

At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to protecting marine wildlife and their habitats. Through rescue, rehabilitation, and long-term care, we provide a lifeline for animals in need while inspiring people to take action for the ocean’s future.
