My husband kindly arranged for me to be keeper for the day at the sanctuary for my 40th birthday. We had visited the sanctuary several times before and appreciated the great care given to the animals. We had always enjoyed long leisurely days there and found it great that dogs were welcomed. Beforehand I was a little worried that I may be one of a group of probably youngsters and was uncertain what reception I would get from the staff as sometimes these keeper for the day packages end up getting in the way of everyday work. I couldn't have been more wrong. I was greeted by Kelly as soon as I arrived and driven down to the centre to learn that I was the only trainee keeper for the day - a policy they always follow. From preparing the food right through to close at hand feeding the seals, sea lions, otters and blowing bubbles for the penguins I had an absolutely BRILLIANT day. All the team were not only very knowledgeable but very friendly and interested in us during the breaks the whole team shared. The animals are incredibly well cared for, not only a complete labour of love but done by a very professional team. Loved the day, love what they do, looking forward to seeing the new enclosures completed on our next holiday to Cornwall. Megan, Trip Advisor
